Bubble — Privacy Policy

Bubble does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Everything the extension stores stays locally on your device. We operate no servers that receive your content or browsing activity.

What Bubble stores (locally, on your device)

Using Chrome's storage API, the extension saves only the following, on your device:

• Your preferences (model choice, context options, and whether to replace the site's built-in selection menu).
• The number of free follow-ups you've used, to enforce the free tier.
• Your saved follow-up "threads" — the questions you ask and the answers shown in the bubble — so they persist between sessions.
• The bubble's last on-screen position and size.
• A locally generated identifier used when communicating with the AI provider.

This information never leaves your browser except as described in "Network requests" below. You can erase it at any time by removing the extension.

Network requests

AI providers. To answer your follow-ups, the extension sends your highlighted text and your follow-up questions to the AI provider whose site you're on, using your existing, logged-in session on that site. These requests go directly from your browser to the provider, and Bubble does not receive or store a copy. Depending on the site, this is:

• ChatGPT (chatgpt.com / chat.openai.com) — governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Claude (claude.ai) — governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Gemini (gemini.google.com) — governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions (ExtensionPay / Stripe). If you start a free trial or subscribe, payment and subscription status are handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. The extension only checks whether your subscription is active; it never sees or stores your payment details.

What Bubble does not do

• No analytics, tracking, or advertising.
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties.
• No collection of your browsing history.
• No remotely hosted code — all extension code is bundled in the package.

Permissions

• storage — to save your settings and threads locally.
• Access to chatgpt.com / chat.openai.com, claude.ai, and gemini.google.com — to run the bubble and answer follow-ups in context.
• Access to extensionpay.com — for optional subscription handling only.

Children's privacy

Bubble is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
